OVER ONS

Since 2014 we (Pim and Claudia) have been working fulltime on making "edible art", as some of our customers sometimes call it. Cake 5 Exclusive Cakes was created by a challenge. It's actually a really fun story!

Claudia once made a birthday cake for our son, which according to Pim looked very nice but was really not tasty. Whereupon Claudia challenged him and said that he should make the next cake! Pim did not want to be outdone and immediately started doing it properly. He then went to Robert van Beckhoven in Oisterwijk and followed the pastry training for beginners (and subsequently also all subsequent pastry and bread training that Robert gave!)

Soon orders came in and we started baking from home. Until we received so many requests that our home became too small and we started looking for a business space. Since January 2014 we have been working together fulltime as Team Cake 5 Exclusive Cakes.

Training courses

Before we officially started Cake 5 Exclusive Cakes, we followed the necessary training courses. For inspiration, we went to Carlos Bakery in New York and followed a workshop together. Claudia then followed the English (Wilton) and American (PME) training courses and various workshops in the field of professional cake decoration and Pim learned the tricks of the trade from, among others, master pastry chef Robèrt van Beckhoven and The Bakery Institute in Zaandam. Pim is the point of contact for our customers and suppliers within Cake 5 and ensures that all cakes and small pastries are baked and filled. He also maintains contacts with our partners and ensures that the wedding cakes are delivered on location with our refrigerated valuables transport. Since 2020, he has also been an independent marriage officer, with our concept CakeBABS. Claudia is responsible for the creative part, such as making the designs, building and decorating the cakes and the design of our website and social media.

Birthday cake for King Willem Alexander

We feel honored to have made the birthday cake for our Royal Highness Willem-Alexander to celebrate his 50th birthday and his visit to Tilburg on King's Day 2017. After the official part, we had the honor to celebrate this special moment together with the Royal family and other guests of the municipality of Tilburg at a secret location. King Willem Alexander looked at the cake together with Queen Maxima in admiration and then cut and ate the first pieces. This day and the meeting with our royal couple was very special and for us truly the crowning glory of our work!
